assessing the quality of scientific publications related to national spending on r & d: cluster analysis of countries

purpose: the purpose of this research is analysis links of these indicators. method: this research is a scientometrics study and it includs 37 countries that have more than 100 h-index in 1996 until 2010 in scimago. these countries were studied in 3 difference clusters. the data gathered from wos, scimago, unesco, oecd and world bank databases. excel and spss are used to analyze the data. also, the research questions and hypothesis are responded through pierson correlation test. findings: the findings show there is positive correlation between two batches of gross domestic expenditure on r&d; indicators and and the quality of scientific publications . also the citation indices, the most important indicator that affect on the quality of scientific publications. originality: searching through countries shows that there is relationship between gross domestic expenditure on r&d; and the quality of scientific publications. so at this study has been dealt to analyze to this matter
